Horse Ranch

“No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.” - Winston Churchill

Rosewood Horse Ranch is nestled into nearly 1,000 acres of rolling plains in central Kansas. A full-working horse ranch, it is home to Rosewood’s Therapeutic Riding program, which is available to Rosewood clients who express an interest in horses and horseback riding.

Rosewood Ranch was founded in May 2001 by Tammy and Eric Hammond. The Therapeutic Riding program started in early 2002. Today, the Ranch has grown to include three expert riding instructors, two of them certified by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl). Those who live with disabilities draw upon normally untapped abilities by riding horses, caring for them and competing on them. It’s not the average regimen; it is eleven hundred pounds of highly effective equine therapy. Rosewood’s equine therapy program is an official PATH International Center, and the Rosewood Ranch is located nine miles west of 10th and Patton in Great Bend.
